Don’t miss out on our captivating fourth annual art exhibition, ‘Music’ at Launchpad 135.
Join us anytime between 10.30am until 2.00pm on Tuesday 21 May and Wednesday 22 May at Launchpad 135, our work and life skills centre in Cardiff Road.
This year the art club at 135, which meets every Monday, have been exploring the theme of ‘Music’ but without necessarily listening to music.
Phil, our art tutor explains: “Artists and musicians produce works that not only elicit emotions, but also change one’s mood, evoke memories, and provide comfort and inspiration.
“Because they share aspects such as harmony, balance, rhythm, and repetition, visual art and music have many parallels.
“Each member of the Art Club has their own voice and responds in their own creative way, but they all share a genuine respect and interest in each other’s work.
“Music, according to Madonna, makes the people, come together.”
On Tuesday 21st, you’ll have a bonus opportunity to view the wonderful creations from the pebble painting sessions.
There are many therapeutic benefits of pebble painting and when people engage in activities like this that require focus in a gentle, mindful way, they can benefit on both psychological and physical levels.
When people take part in pebble painting, or other aspects of arts and crafts, their mind becomes relaxed, and it can be an emotional release for people struggling with stress.
It’s one of the many wellbeing sessions on offer at 135 which also include mindfulness, acupuncture, and gardening.
Join us in May and see the magic for yourself!
