Back in December we announced our exciting re-development plans for The Stables – the home of our drop-in service in Reading just off Friar Street.
Two months in, and plans are progressing well with a view to us welcoming people into the new-look, fully accessible drop-in, at the beginning of April.
One of the main changes downstairs will be more private meeting rooms for our drop-in clients and a larger and more welcoming reception area in which to wait.
The new three meeting rooms are larger and fully accessible for wheelchair users, people with limited mobility and anyone with a pram or buggy.
They are also versatile when not in use for drop-in clients as they will be separated by bi-fold doors which, when open, will create one large space.
The building will also benefit from new insulation and some new windows making it more energy efficient.
From the beginning of March changes to the front of the Stables building will be noticeable as we create a new entrance façade.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the Earley charity and its Trustees for their generous donation towards the refurbishment of ‘The Stables’ from its Capital Projects Programme.
