Meet Miss LunaLu, a member of the Launchpad Walkies! team, and her owner Sharon.
A dog’s perspective:
“A few years ago I was a street dog and spent my days roaming around searching for food and a warm place to sleep. I was then linked into several humans, each time they never seem to gel with me, then I found Sharon.
“Sharon gave me a warm bed, lovely food regularly, and all I had to do was let her pat me and defend off a few pigeons in her garden. Life was good.
“Now Sharon supports other humans who have human world challenges, through Launchpad. Sharon signed us up for a Walkies! challenge of 100 miles, I thought my roaming days were over! However, this is more fun, we get to go different places sometimes involving cake / dog biscuits and I‘ve got a green bandana to wear to show other humans what we are doing.
“22 miles counted so far another 78 miles to go, I hear there is promise of more biscuits and even better, money raised by my paws and others joining the challenge will go towards helping other humans enjoy a better life!”
Sharon said: “I was looking for a fundraising event that would fit into my work life and home life, this was perfect as I walk daily with my dogs. It’s a great opportunity to roam around with my LunaLu, building up a bond between us, and in tandem help to raise vital funds to help people to live positive, independent lives.”
