Join us for Carols by Candlelight

Join us for a fantastically festive evening at our much-loved Carols by Candlelight on Wednesday 14 December in the wonderful Concert Hall in Reading Town Hall.

Hosted by Launchpad patrons, Matt Allwright and Danyl Johnson, there will be sing-along carols performed by the joyful Reading Community Gospel Choir and Bulmershe School Choir, readings by special guests and inspiring stories about our work with people in housing crisis – all against the backdrop of magical candlelight.

Since forming in 2007, the Reading Community Gospel Choir has performed at a huge number of events around the town and if you haven’t heard them yet, listening to them at Christmas is truly a joy to behold!

The aim of the choir is ‘to bring all voices together irrespective of one’s cultural and religious background and give one voice to the gospel message of hope and love’.

Students from Bulmershe School Choir are also making a name for themselves and will also be singing against the backdrop of candlelight in the magnificent setting of the Concert Hall, which dates back to 1882.

Every ticket sold for this unmissable festive evening will help Launchpad provide homes for Reading’s most vulnerable this winter.

There will also be some incredible prizes to be won in our raffle on the night – including dinner for two in the Reading Room at the Roseate, a £50 voucher for The Oracle and a £75 voucher for Jacobs the Jewellers. Please bring cash or card with you to enter the raffle!

Our supported housing offers warm, clean and safe accommodation for up to 104 people in need – which will be a lifeline to the many individuals, couples and families due to be made homeless by the rise in the cost of living over the coming months.

Tickets are £10 per person (FREE for under 3’s).

The Waterhouse Bar at Reading Town Hall will be open from 5.30pm to 6pm for you to enjoy a drink before the event. Only drinks bought at the venue will be allowed into the Concert Hall.

Seating is unreserved and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you, or a member of your group, have mobility difficulties and require accessible seating, please select the ‘adult in wheelchair’ or ‘child in wheelchair’ ticket option when booking.

If you are unable to attend, we would really appreciate a donation this Christmas so we can continue ensuring local people have a roof over their head and a place to call home.

We know times are hard for everyone at the moment, but any donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference.
