What is the Goring Gap?
Whether you’re a walker, jogger, or seasoned runner, Goring Gap has a challenge for everyone at this action-packed event, set along the stunning Thames Path. Starting in the picturesque Mapledurham, you’ll wind your way through breathtaking stretches of the Oxfordshire Thames soaking in the mid-May summer sun. From the bold 50-mile ultramarathon to a fun 10k walk (and everything in between), Goring Gap promises the perfect mix of challenge, beauty, and excitement for all abilities. Come push your limits and revel in the views!
The cost to take part depends which challenge you sign up for. Prices range from £30 to £70 and you can see price breakdowns on the Goring Gap website.

What happens on the day?
On the day of the event, head to Mapledurham House, where you’ll receive your welcome pack, including your race number and pins for your shirt. Free on-site parking is available for all participants. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race starts to ensure you’re ready to go.
Along the route, you’ll find water stations, toilets, and refuelling stops offering free snacks and drinks to keep you energized all the way to the finish line. You can also opt for a timing chip and purchase photos of yourself tackling the challenge. Spectators are warmly encouraged to come and cheer you on!
All routes are circular, so you’ll finish back at the race village, where food and refreshment vans await. For those travelling from afar, there’s an option to book a camping spot the night before the event.
