Festive fundraising success

We’re thrilled to be able to announce that collective fundraising activities over the festive season has brought in more than £60,000!

Our Christmas appeal and other events have been so well supported, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated. The photo above is of Harry Gow who welcomed everyone to our Carols by Candlelight concert by playing the bagpipes beautifully. Harry had fundraised for us earlier in the year.

*Mark (right) featured in our appeal this year and spoke about how he was looking forward to spending Christmas with his family for the first time in a long time.

In the past he’d been in jail at Christmas and spent more than one homeless.

His recovery from a drug addiction began three years ago, but everything really changed when Launchpad gave him a home and he was supported by our team.

Now, whilst still living in our supported housing accommodation, he is doing some training courses and hoping this will lead to a job.

He said this month: “I’m glad to hear your fundraising went well …. I had an amazing Christmas thank you. I went to my sisters with all the family – lovely day and New Years Eve my sister had a get together. I really enjoyed myself!”

As well as our appeal and Carols by Candlelight, we’d also like to thank all the schools, local businesses, choirs and churches who thought of us and raised funds for Launchpad

* We changed Mark’s name to protect his identity.
