Celebrating a new charity partnership with DAS Fire

We’re thrilled to announce a new charity partnership with DAS Fire whose mission has always been about protection, whether that’s through innovative fire detection solutions or empowering colleagues and community.

On why a partnership with Launchpad works, DAS Fire said:

“Launchpad has been supporting people in Reading for over four decades. What started as a humble soup kitchen in 1979 has evolved into a vital, holistic service that helps over 1,800 people each year who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

“They don’t just respond to crisis; they try to prevent it. Through their drop-in services, legal support, and temporary and long-term housing, they offer people a path to stability and independence.

“Their work and life skills centre helps individuals rebuild their lives with access to life skills, confidence-building programmes and job-readiness support, as well as counselling and therapeutic activities

“Their mission – to ensure everyone in Reading has a safe, stable place to live – deeply resonates with us.

“At DAS Fire, we believe in creating environments where people feel secure and protected. Partnering with Launchpad allows us to extend that commitment beyond buildings and into the lives of people who need it most.

Over the next 12 months, our team will be hands-on in supporting Launchpad through:

  • Team volunteering days at Launchpad’s allotment and skills centre
  • Fundraising events
  • Internal awareness campaigns to help our staff better understand the challenges around homelessness and how to make a difference

“We’ll also be raising funds later in the year to support Launchpad projects such as, helping someone furnish their first home, or supporting work-ready skills sessions at the work and life skills centre.

“Together, we hope to support real change, and our team look forward to making a lasting impact to Launchpad.”

Kirsti Wilson, head of fundraising and marketing at Launchpad, said: “We’re proud to be chosen as DAS Fire’s charity partner.

“Their commitment to safety and protection aligns perfectly with our mission to prevent homelessness and support people in rebuilding their lives.

“We’re excited to work alongside the DAS Fire team to create meaningful, lasting change for vulnerable people in Reading.”

One of the first fundraising events is a 12.5km Hike/Run, 21km Hike/Run or a 42km Hike/Run in the Peak District on September 19th.
