What is your role at Launchpad and when did you join?

I’m the Assessment & Information Coordinator in the Supported Housing team, and I started on 12th August 2024.

What does a typical day look like for you here?

A typical day involves liaising with different agencies, attending meetings with the council, receiving referrals for supported housing assessments, and booking those assessments. I then present the assessed clients to the team every Thursday, giving us an opportunity to determine whether Launchpad is the best supported housing option for them based on the support they require. After that, I focus on the necessary admin tasks, such as completing client risk assessments and ensuring data accuracy.

What is  your career background?

My career background is a mix of exploring where my skills fit best. I started my post-university career working for a geodata company, focusing on mapping and environmental reports. After that, I spent some time in corporate roles in operations and project administration within the infrastructure sector before deciding I wanted to work more directly with people. This led me to become a workshop leader, running sessions on relationships, county lines, drugs, wellbeing, and more. Later, I volunteered with Launchpad and eventually applied for my current role. It has been an interesting journey of learning along the way.

What do you enjoy about working at Launchpad?

I enjoy that each day is different, meeting people at crucial moments in their lives and finding ways to be of service. I get to hear about their journeys and goals for the future, as well as understand how we can best support them along the way.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy running, hiking, reading, cooking and doodling. 😊
