Numbers seeking support continues to rise

The numbers of people we’re helping continues to rise steadily, particularly in our drop-in service, where our team are being challenged daily to help people experiencing a wide range of issues which are putting their homes at risk.

Lately this has included people who have been issued with a ‘Section 21 no fault eviction notice’. We’ve also been seeing asylum seekers who have been granted refugee status in this country and are being given next to no time to leave their Home Office accommodation and find somewhere else to live.

Other people using our free drop-in service are concerned about rising rent and bills. Whatever the reason our team are committed to doing their best for everyone that needs our help.

More Launchpad homes

We can currently accommodate 104 people and we are thrilled that in the coming months we will be able to offer accommodation for another 21 people. We’ll tell you more about this work once the final checks and signoffs on our new homes have been completed.

The rise and rise of Launchpad 135

More people are using the services and taking part in activities at Launchpad 135, our work and life skills centre. This is really positive as it indicates that more people are taking control of their lives and seeking support in order to move forward.

At 135 we can help build someone’s confidence with gentle activities such as art and gardening, practical skills such as cooking and digital sessions on laptops, leading to moving on with finding a job or volunteer work.

We also work hard to ensure people look after their rented property to keep their tenancy.
