What is the Pangbourne Dragon Boat Race?
Run by the Rotary Club of Pangbourne, the Pangbourne Dragon Boat Race is an annual event which sees crews of 17 people race against each other in dragon boats along the River Thames – all to raise money for local charities, including Launchpad!
Teams of 17 people from local businesses and community groups attempt to paddle to glory in several races during the day – with the aim of winning the coveted dragon boat trophy!
Where does it take place?
The event runs alongside the Pangbourne Village Fete at Pangbourne Meadows, so it’s a great family day out for all!
How much is it to enter?
The cost is £50 per person which will help fund our vital services to support those who are homeless and at risk of homelessness in Reading.
This covers everything (boats, helmsmen and buoyancy aids – which will all be provided) and there is no additional fundraising required. Plus, Launchpad staff and volunteers will be there on the day to cheer you on!
What if we don’t have 17 people?
There is no obligation to provide 17 people – you are more than
welcome to join a boat with other local businesses and community groups who are also part of #TeamLaunchpad but please be aware this will be dependent on us being able to fill a whole boat on this basis.
