IT Manager (On site)

Full-time or Part Time, 25-37 hours per week

£30,000 – £32,000 p.a. FTE

7% employer pension contribution, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays

 ABOUT LAUNCHPAD

Launchpad provides vital information and support for vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Reading who do not have a stable place to live or are at risk of losing their home. It was founded as a soup kitchen in 1979 by students at the University of Reading, the charity now provides a holistic service that works in three ways – we prevent homelessness, provide homes and rebuild lives. .  We are now seeking an IT Manager to join our team across 4 sites within Reading.

THIS ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the IT Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning and leading IT-related activities within Launchpad Reading. You will be overseeing infrastructure, telecommunication systems while implementing GDPR and cyber security, and working on improving systems.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Will have a flexible and responsive approach to managing the role
  • Will have excellent planning and organisation skills and effective time management.
  • Will be able to thrive in a busy working environment with changing priorities and goals
  • Will have excellent knowledge and experience of managing Microsoft operating systems, Windows architecture, and IT contract management.

THIS ROLE

This role will be based within our 135 Working and Life Skills Centre which is just a short walk from Reading Station. As the Learning Support Tutor your role will be primarily to assist with planning individual and group support programmes and individual action plans, which provide a range of strategies that will motivate, challenge, and empower our members to make positive changes to their lives. Within this role you would need to be able to develop, agree and implement a SMART action plan and measures of support with individual members. In addition ensure inclusivity for all members, design and deliver outreach sessions off site.

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Professional, approachable, confident, and empathetic manner whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Previous experience with working with clients that require support need.
  • Award in Education and Training AET (formally PTLLS) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of working with adults with multiple support needs or working with specific learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of intermediate IT software systems including Windows 365 / Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
