We’re thrilled that on Sunday, 19 July, Berkshire 5’S football tournament is returning to Reading City FC’s Rivermoor Stadium in aid of Launchpad.
What better way to build up to the World Cup final, than playing football yourself?
The tournament brings together local businesses for an afternoon of:
- Fast paced, outdoor five a side football (no VAR, we promise)
- Friendly competition and relaxed networking
- Doing genuine good for people facing homelessness in Reading
And this year, just to add to the excitement, the team who raise the most money can benefit from the skills of a professional footballer to play in one of your matches!
Entry is £200 for a team of ten – teams can be mixed men and women. (You’ll be glad of those subs as games stack up!)
Teams will battle it out across the afternoon, with bragging rights very much at stake!
Most importantly, every penny from your entry fee and sponsorship goes directly towards supporting some of the most vulnerable people in Reading, helping them move away from homelessness and towards independence.
So even if your legs don’t make it to the final whistle, your impact absolutely will.
Organiser Tom Canning said: “The inaugural tournament last year was fantastic and this year we want to build on that success and ideally have ten teams take part.
“I can promise a great afternoon of football and spectators are welcome. The clubhouse will be open for drinks and snacks, and the tournament will be over by 6pm so people have plenty of time to catch the World Cup Final that evening.
“I’d like to thank our sponsors Plaion, supporting us for the second year running, and thanks to Reading City FC for hosting us again.
“Last year as part of the registration teams were given personalised shirts; this year if you want your own shirts with logos just let us know and we can arrange that.
“We hope that PWC will be back to defend their winning trophy! If you want to challenge them, sign up today. Your team will enjoy a fantastic afternoon of competitive, and fun, football all played in good spirit.”
